What to expect during treatment
Treatments take place in private rooms, usually with the patient lying down. You can either wear loose clothing or use the treatment gowns we provide. To help you relax and obtain the most benefit from treatment, we offer soothing music and subdued lighting. We hope this will enhance our patients’ relaxation and enjoyment during treatments.
Acupuncture pins are tiny, about the thickness of a human hair. We use only new, pre-sterilized, disposable pins. Each whisper-thin pin is used only once, and then discarded. You may not feel anything when a pin is inserted, or you may have a sensation of warmth, heaviness, tingling or achiness. In some cases, patients feel minor discomfort, which passes immediately. Treatment sessions usually last between 50-60 minutes and are very relaxing.
Who will provide treatment
The acupuncturists are licensed by the Oregon State Board of Medical Examiners and hold Master’s degrees in Oriental Medicine.
